Another Smirk Face

Description

'Two things are certain in life. One of them is death, the other one is a sentrin being curious.'

Morgan ignored Orion, and continued walking along the sandy path. A few steps later she realised that he didn't walk next to her anymore. She turned her head, and saw that he had stopped at a three-way junction. Morgan hadn't even notice that there was a second path, until now.

'I've got something for you,' he said.

'What is - wait, no! I am not going to fall for that!' Morgan turned around briskly and marched towards the main gate. It was bound to be a short walk though. Her curiosity grew with every step until it became so big that it forced her to stop, only a couple of metres further. She looked up to the sky and sighed deeply. Why had sentrins to be so curiousShe cursed herself again, turned around and walked towards a very smug-looking Orion.

'Yes, I know. I changed my mind. Get that smirk off your face.'

'I am not smirking', Orion replied, but the look on his face didn't change.

She squinted at him. 'It's the only facial expression you know.'

Orion laughed bitterly. 'My smile is wrong, my eyes are scary; tell me, is there anything you do like about my face?'

The story snippet above is still under construction; the final version might turn out a bit different ;)

Anyway: COLOURED PENCILS!!!!! Goodness, it has been ages since I made something with that!!! Like YEARS! should use them more often - it was fun :) I should be working on a bucketload of stuff I have to draw for people, or filling moving boxes, but a certain skype group inspired me to draw a coloured pencil portrait. Besides, I was a bit done with all the digital art I am currently working on. Didn't know what to draw - but when in doubt, draw Orion; it always works :) And I guess I missed him a bit :')

Some drawings just seem to draw themselves - and this was one of them. I finished it much faster than I expected (and liked...) I did make one stupid mistake though; his eyes weren't at the same height. It didn't show up in the original drawing, but when I saw the scanned version it suddenly popped up very well :S so I had to warp it a bit to make his face look good. I also changed the original drawing to get his eyes right, but it looks a bit different now from this version (but I am not in the mood to scan it again).

Oh, and I wished my black pencils were a bit more... black. I made the colours (and blackness) pop up a bit more with photoshop, but the original is somewhat lighter. Jeez, I want a pencil so dark that even night itself will get ashamed by it!

Orion is part of a story I am working on, called 'a State of Equilibrium'.
You can find more info about him in the description here:

And here is the prologue of my story:
Prologue - a State of Equilibrium
There was that feeling again. He was used to it, after suffering from it for years. It was so unpleasant though that he still couldn't ignore it. It felt like his skin was pinched by thousands of hot, long needles. It always happened when it was time for him to wake up. Luckily it only lasted a second, and it was just a fraction of the misery that already darkened him. The pain faded, and he stood up in the middle of an endless sea of grass, blades moving slowly in the wind.  The pieces of his armour clattered softly against each other. Dark blood stained the shining metal, but it wasn't his. He wondered why he always wore it; he didn't need protection. Getting wounded was something he didn't care about. Maybe he should leave it behind. He started fumbling with the clasps of his armour, while he looked at his surroundings. Only a few gnarled trees were scattered amongst this dull, monotone la
