Just a normal day at the office...

'I actually prefer a bow and arrow; it's quicker, quieter, and much less messy. The only downside is that archers usually miss all the action of close combat.' Orion looked up from his sword, and his gaze seemed to focus on something that only existed in his own mind. His face turned dreamy, interlaced with traces of longing. 'There is something really... fascinating about seeing life fleeing away from someone's eyes...' 

Morgan flinched at that statement. It wasn't just because of what he said, but also how he had said it. His voice was soft and deep, almost a whisper, but it contained a hint of something Morgan could only describe as jealousy. A cold shiver ran down her spine. 

Every time I think you are acting rather nice you say something that scares the hell out of me...

This is my favourite of the 'words of inspiration' drawings; I like how the shading turned out here and also because Orion is in it.

So this is what Orion should be doing, according to his job description - fighting off evil magic, whatever that might be. Next time I'll use a reference, I don't know that much about swords and fighting poses, but yeah... I had no internet to look it up  

And jeez, that sword looks different every time I draw it - probably because I don't know what it looks like either, haha! But I can imagine Orion has used quite some different swords throughout his life, so the looks of it will change trough time.
Anyway, the thing is a bit on the bulky side, Orion doesn't fight with flimsy kitchen knives if it isn't over 1.8 m tall, it isn't worth fighting with I almost start to wonder if he is compensating for something, haha! But one of the reasons that weapon is so large is that it has a huge fear factor. I would run away if big guy with a sword as large as myself was coming after me, and those white eyes do not make him look cute either... besides, soldiers who were able to wield such a weapon got paid double during the middle ages/Renaissance. Maybe I will use that in my world too, but I haven't thought much about Orion's wages yet.

Orion's fighting style is pretty reckless - he doesn't wear armour (besides from some leather cuffs), and doesn't really care if he gets wounded... I've created a suicidal maniac, but he's got his reasons for it.

There was that feeling again. He was used to it, after suffering from it for years. It was so unpleasant though that he still couldn't ignore it. It felt like his skin was pinched by thousands of hot, long needles. It always happened when it was time for him to wake up. Luckily it only lasted a second, and it was just a fraction of the misery that already darkened him. The pain faded, and he stood up in the middle of an endless sea of grass, blades moving slowly in the wind.  The pieces of his armour clattered softly against each other. Dark blood stained the shining metal, but it wasn't his. He wondered why he always wore it; he didn't need protection. Getting wounded was something he didn't care about.
